The flavor born in
The Mexican Caribbean,
now at your table.

Mexico:
A land of Life, Flavor
and Ancient Stories

In the heart of the Mexican Caribbean, where turquoise waters meet lush green landscapes, lies a region shaped by time and nature. Millions of years ago, an asteroid struck this land — the very impact that ended the age of dinosaurs — and left behind one of the most fertile soils on Earth.

This is also the land of the Mayan people, a civilization that honored the earth, the sun, and the cycles of life. Today, that same spirit lives on in the way Keken raises its food: with care, respect, and deep connection to the land.

Why us over other brands:

Water from underground Cenotes

Water from underground Cenotes

Our hogs drink naturally filtered water sourced from underground rivers (cenotes) in the Yucatán Peninsula. After rainfall, this water passes through the region’s porous limestone soil, ensuring its purity and mineral balance. It’s the same pristine water that flows into the Caribbean Sea—celebrated for its clarity and vibrant color—keeping our animals healthy, hydrated, and thriving.

Salt from Caribbean Sea

Salt from Caribbean Sea

Salt is a natural flavor enhancer, and today’s culinary trends embrace a wide variety—from Himalayan and mine salt to French truffle salt—each adding its own character to food. At Keken, we feed our hogs with salt sourced directly from the Caribbean Sea. This sea salt is sun-dried next to beautiful beaches just 100 km from our farms.

Oil Ceiba Family Tree

Oil Ceiba Family Tree

We include a special floral oil in our hogs’ diet, extracted from a tropical tree related to the Ceiba tree. This natural ingredient, added during the final feeding stage, helps improve the quality of pork fat—making it firmer and whiter. This results in better loins and fat texture, which is especially appreciated in dishes like Tonkatsu for example.
